On December 15th, 2020 Astra joined the group of privately funded companies that have made it to space. The goal was a nominal first stage burn, followed by fairing separation and stage separation; the mission was a success. Rocket 3.2 had more than two minutes of a successful first-stage flight. All of the rocket’s hardware and software performed well.
The company is ramping up rocket production and launching operations. The first customer payload delivery is expected in a few months after a small adjustment to the mixture ratio of fuel and oxidizer.
