Botswana has recently launched an ambitious satellite project to develop a home-grown nanosatellite.
The project will take three years and is expected to contribute to the growth and development of the nation.
The program aims to launch an Earth observation 3U nanosatellite with the ambition of launching bigger satellites such as 6U and 12U in the future in order to create a constellation. The Botswana International University of Science, Technology (BIUST) will host the program in collaboration with local, regional and international partners.
Another 19 African countries have established or started the process of creating a space program.
