Mapbox is in the business of mapping and location cloud services, focused on automated vehicle and enterprise networks. To upgrade its new Mapbox 3D service, the company has added 135 million square kilometers of satellite Earth imagery from Maxar Technologies to its platform.

The data were retrieved with the WorldView high-resolution Earth Observation (EO) satellites. Maxar expects to launch its next-generation WorldView constellation, Legion, later this year. Legion satellites will be able to collect data even overnight and create 3D models in real-time.
