Spacebit’s rover Asagumo to be send to the Moon in 2021 telegraph.co.uk

Spacebit’s rover “Asagumo” will launch with NASA in summer 2021, being the first-ever British rover and the first time that a rover with robotic legs instead of wheels explores the Moon.

Asagumo is just 3.9 inches tall (10cm) and having legs instead of wheels will allow it to walk over bumpy terrain and crawl through underground lava tubes.

The rover will carry instruments capable of measuring radiation and will explore the environment inside those lava tubes to study the possibility of using them as shelter in future human exploration.
