This is the first time Congress has overridden one of Trupm’s vetoed bills. Both the Senate (81-13) and the House (322-87) were backed by Republicans and Democrats.
Any legislation not enacted before the end of one Congress (January 3rd, 2021) must start over in the next Congress. By overriding the veto, the 60th annual NDAA has passed it into law before this Congress concludes on Sunday and the 117th Congress convenes on Sunday.
