The Space Dynamics Laboratory at Utah State University has been awarded a contract from NASA to investigating how large weather events on earth create disturbances above the planet’s atmosphere. The study will look at the impact on the ionosphere using gravity waves.
The ionosphere determines the quality of communications from sensitive military communication satellites, GPS units, or communication satellites.
The final product is scheduled to be ready by September 2021, when it will be delivered to NASA and to depart to its final destination on the International Space Station.
